4 FEBRUARY 2020

 Tuesday, 4 February 2020
6 pm for Bistro Dinner (Table 34), Meeting will commence at 7 pm
at Mounties, Mount Pritchard.
It will be a fellowship night.

Meeting 28 January 2020
We had a wide ranging discussion of how the Club will go forward into 2020.

Dinner/Meeting Format: It was agreed that all meals will now be had in the Bistro at Table 34 between 6 and 7 pm with meals no longer being served in the meeting room. This should minimise disruption of both Guest Speakers and the Meeting.

Drought Relief: It was agreed to continue our efforts in the Narromine/Trangie areas this year. Our RABS Project called “Drought Relief Assistance in Western NSW’, use of this project provides tax deductibility for donations. We have already started receiving donations, including from the Rotary Club of Kincumber.

It is planned to go out to Narromine around Easter, this time we would distribute Easter to School Students, continue to provide Drought Relief Vouchers, provide hardships support for students through the schools and fund a free Community Get together. Consideration is being given to the October Long Weekend as well to help Narromine with their catering at a local Picnic Race Meeting. A letter received from Rotary Club of Narromine is reproduced latter in this Newsletter.

Tax Deductible donations can now be made by going to  https://donations.rawcs.com.au/74-2019-20

Members of Truc Lam Zen Centre will be fund raising (by selling vegetarian meals)  at Fairfield Showground during the Tet ''s Festival (Lunar new year) from 31 January to 2 February 20.  All money raised will be shared between the Rotary Liverpool West (for Drought Relief) and the Rotary National Bushfire Appeal.

Rotary National Bushfire Appeal Project 68-2019-20

We have all seen the disastrous fires that have erupted, taking lives as well as destroying hundreds of homes and properties across Australia.
Rotary is once again taking the lead and looking to provide support for families in need. To this end several Rotary Districts and Clubs have established projects which are ready and able to accept donations from you. All of those projects can apply for funds from this appeal.

We have averted a crisis at the Liverpool City Police Command by donating a BBQ, to ensure that the world remained in balance.
BBQing lessons, we also offered but as yet not accepted.

I JUST discovered my age group! I am a Seenager (Senior teenager).
I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later.
I don't have to go to school or work.
I get an allowance every month.
I have my own place.
I don't have a curfew.
I have a driver's licence and my own car.
I have ID that gets me into bars and wine shops, I like the wine shop best.
The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant, or failing English, they aren't scared of anything, they have been blessed to live this long, why be scared?
And I don't have acne.
Life is Good!
Also, you will feel much more intelligent after reading this, if you are a Seenager.
Brains of older people are slow because they know so much.
People do not decline mentally with age; it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains.
Scientists believe this also makes you hard of hearing as it puts pressure on your inner ear.
Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for.  It is NOT a memory problem; it is nature's way of making older people do more exercise.
