Greg Gibbs was appointed Chair of Police Officer of the Year Committee.
John reported on Feed the Homeless Martin Place - Held on Monday, 18 November 2024 - we provided hot meals and fresh fruit donated by the Hall Family.
Next month we will be making up and distributing Gift Packs for Christmas as well as meals -
Indicative costs are $65 per person plus drinks at own expense.
Treasurer Sam Capra Circulated a commitment sheet for the End of Year Function at Rocco's on Saturday, 14 December 2024 - if you are attending please confirm with Sam.
Secretary Jim Rudling reported that the he had been contacted by Unity Grammar at Austral in relation to the school participating in MUNA and RYPEN.
We have also been approached by Liverpool City Meals on Wheels to provide 135 Christmas Cakes for their clients as a Christmas Treat.
Jim has purchased these by raiding several Woolworth store and cleaning them out and will be arranging delivery to Meals on Wheels.
Trend Connections Homes has generously sponsored us in this effort which is greatly appreciated.
International Service Director Ted Mlynarz asked Jim Rudling to report on the recent trip he made with Cambodia Vision.
Jim reported that over the 6 days that the team were in Cambodia 605 eye surgeries were performed by the team of 4 Australian surgeons and 2 Surgeons from China. In addition nearly 1,000 hearing assessments were conducted and 900 free hearing aids provided ( all donated by ABC Tissues).
Annual Circus - 2024
This will be held in the Grounds of Liverpool Catholic Club on Saturday 7 December and Sunday 8 December 2024. We will have three sessions each day comprising of a 40 minute performance and a 30 minute Circus performer workshop.
This will be an open air event - NO TENT - put on by Ashton Entertainment.
There will be food and drink plus rides and games.
We will need volunteers to marshall attendees on both days and a commitment sheet will be circulated.
RYLA 2025 applications are currently open until 30 November 2024.
RYLA is a leadership program for people aged 19-25 on 28 January to 2 February 2025 and will be held at the Tops Conference Centre, Grevillea, 51 Bendena Gardens, Stanwell Tops 2508, and is sponsored by Rotary Clubs.
If you know someone aged 19-25 and available on those dates, we would greatly appreciate it if you could distribute the application form and flyers.
Bunnings require that we have at least 5 volunteers manning the site at all times.
