We held a ZOOM meeting with 14 Members in attendance.
President Ted Mlynarz opened the meeting and welcomed members back to the World of ZOOM.
Ted reported that because of COVID Restrictions National Lamington Day has been postponed until
25 August 2021 and that the District Governor Jeremy Wright’s Official Visit to our Club has been scheduled for 14 September 2021 – this will be a joint meeting with Liverpool and Liverpool Greenway Clubs and will be held at Mounties.
He also reported that the Changeover Dinner has been rescheduled for Saturday 28 August 2021 and will be held in the Starz Room at Mounties 6:30 for 7 pm. We will be having a sumptuous Chinese Banquet provided by Jumbo Seafood Restaurant.
Secretary Jim Rudling will be sending out amended invitations closer to the date.
Ted also advised that Charles Hili would not be continuing as Secretary and the role had now passed to Jim Rudling.
Treasurer Gary Halliday reminded members that Annual Fees of $225 are now due and to date around 40% of members have paid. They can be paid by direct deposit to the Club’s Bank Account

Community Service Director Tissa Perera reported that following they approach from CORE Community Services to Club had made a donation to assist them with the supply and distribution of “Stay at Home” packs for Children and Young People in South West Sydney.
These packs include items such as:
- Arts and craft supplies
- Seedlings and pots
- Building toys (Lego), and
- Other good that they would find beneficial during lockdown.
The packs also include information around:
- Mental health – There has been a direct impact on children’s and youth mental health during the pandemic,
- Remaining active indoors,
- Domestic violence – there has been an increase in domestic violence cases during lockdowns.
- Important numbers for assistance.
Once we return to normality Jose Brosas from CORE Community Services will come to a Meeting to speak to the Club about the work they do in our community.
The RYPEN Camp scheduled for August has been cancelled due to Covid restrictions. Youth Service Director Sonny Hoang has contacted the students who had nominated to attend. He will offer them the opportunity to attend the next scheduled RYPEN at Teen Ranch, Cobbitty, April 1,2 and 3 2022.
We had a report from our intrepid adventurers on their dessert trek – Peter is safely ensconced in Broken Hill solving shock absorber anomalies, John Cauchi is sourcing parts and Bob Groat has mastered the Toyota knee gear change methodology but all in all they had a good trip.
