Meeting – 5 March 2019
It was a small meeting with many of our members overseas or on leave as such Alvan deferred his presentation on the World War I battlefields of France.

We discussed our upcoming trip and drought relief efforts in the Lake Cargelligo District – see later in this Newsletter.

President Elect Sam Capra and President Jim Rudling are to meet with Wendy Waller (Mayor of Liverpool) to discuss the plight of Homeless in the Liverpool Area.

Sam Capra and John Pillay head for Fiji on 9 March 2019 to work on the Club’s Water and Sanitation Project in Waidra Village on the Coral Coast.

We also received an application for Membership of our Club, Secretary Alvan will be circulating details shortly.

Our next meeting on 12th March is a vocational visit to the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research in Liverpool - 1 Campbell Street, Liverpool NSW 2170 and we are back at Mounties on 19th March 2019.

Members Raffle Jackpot will be $40.00 on 19th March 2019.
As we get closer to St Parick’s Day
Mick had applied for a fermentation operator post, at a famous Irish firm, based in Dublin.
A Pole applied for the same job and since both applicants had similar qualifications, they were asked to take a test by the Manager.
When the results were in, both men had scored 19 out of 20.
The manager went to Mick and said, "Thank you for coming to the interview, but we’ve decided to give the Polish man the job."
Mick said, "And why would you be doing that?   We both got 19 questions correct.  This being Ireland and me being Irish, surely I should get the job."
The Manager said, "We have made our decision not on the correct answers but on the question you got wrong."
Mick exclaimed, "Oh.  Can you be telling me, just how would one incorrect answer be better than another?"
Manager, "Simple. On question number 7, the Pole wrote down, 'I don’t know.'
You put down, “Neither do I.”

Lake Cargelligo Drought Assistance

As part of our Drought Assistance we offered Lake Cargelligo Rotary Club a Paul Harris Fellow to be awarded to a Non-Rotarian in their district who should be recognised for their efforts. We have been advised of such as person and the PHF has been ordered.

We will be having Easter Eggs delivered to 550 School Children in the Lake Cargelligo Area before School breaks up for holidays.

We are we1l on the way with preparing the Aid Vouchers which will be distributed in conjunction with Rotary Club of Lake Cargelligo and Lower Lachlan Community Services. Many thanks to the local businesses who have agreed to participate and accept our vouchers. Lower Lachlan Community Services will be providing the administration of this part of our assistance.
