It was great to see five of our travellers back from their journeys.
Ted Mlynarz Joe Cauchi Jim Leahy and Charlie Hili back from Cambodia and Vietnam and Alan Hall after surviving the Variety Bash.
Ted Mlynarz reported on the AHHA trip to Cambodia and Vietnam from 11 August to 25 August. During that time the medical team was involved in performing:
910 eye examinations
498 eye operations
756 dental examinations
2008 dental procedures
In addition to that mammoth task the team distributed 2000 water filters and food parcels.
A good job well done.
Matters arising out of the Club Forum were:
John Pillay proposed that the Club visits a NSW country town providing a Community BBQ and other support in conjunction with the Local Rotary Club, as a means of assisting a place that is drought affected. This proposition will be reviewed with Frans Buskermolen (who has extensive contacts in Country NSW) when he returns from Holland.
Rinna Ly requested that members utilise the “Share” function on Facebook to spread the word about Rotary Liverpool West, its news and events.
At the Board Meeting following t was resolved to investigate the provision of Diabetes Insulin Pump to a local Child and to adopt “Project Natalia” as the President’s Project for 2018/9 providing financial support to bring this young woman to Australia for life changing surgery. The Board also finalised and adopted the Club’s Privacy Policy which is now available for download from our website.
Miracle Babies Fund Raising Night is fast approaching and members are urged to keep seeking sponsors and selling tickets for this night – we want to make it a success! We have at least 6 Platinum Sponsors on board for the night. We will be able to accept credit card payments on the night for tickets, raffles and auctions.
We do not have a normal Club meeting on Tuesday 4 September as it has been transferred to the Police Officer of the year function.
