6 MAY 2020

Meeting 5 May 2020 – We had a good attendance for this meeting with members Zooming in and out as they experienced IT and NBN issues, Frans had his IT expert on hand, and Alan played around and shared his Desktop image with us.
 The fellowship was great.

President Sam and Secretary Charlie raised the current situation in relation to District Governor challenge by Hurstville Club and the need to vote as a Club in the near future. It was the view of Members that open election of District Governors in the future by Clubs voting would be a better way to go forward rather than have them appointed by a District Committee.

We received an approach from Turbans 4 Australia to fund Hampers for the Homeless, this will be considered by the Club’s Board at its next Meeting.

Red Shield Appeal 2020
This year, the Salvation Army are unable to hold their normal Red Shield Appeal weekend due to the Covid-19 restrictions. This means no door knock and no physical collecting of cash donations. This is concerning, as they rely heavily on these funds collected. They are trialling a full online campaign (something they have never done before).

This is where they need our help!

If you are able to donate please go to the link below to our local donation page.

Hand Sanitiser
We expect to receive the 1000 bottles we have ordered shortly and will arrange distribution to the charities operating in our area that we have identified.

The next Club Board of Directors Meeting (both the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Boards) will be scheduled for around the end of May 2020, hopefully at Mounties but if not, we will set up a ZOOM Conference.
This will be for both the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Boards

Annual Circus has now been rescheduled to be held in May 2021, we still plan to hold it in the Grounds of the Bonnyrigg Sports Club - discussions are being held with Projects for Children (telemarketer), Brophy’s Circus, Fairfield Council and the Club. Updates when available.

Narromine District Drought Relief – Mungery Picnic Races

Our current plan is to visit the District from Friday, 3rd October to Sunday, 5th October 2020.

Hopefully we will be able to hold a Free Community BBQ on Saturday 4th October and the assist the Members of the Rotary Club of Narromine with their catering and work at the Mungery Picnic Races.

We have agreed to fund “Back to School” sausage sizzles to be held at Trangie Central School and Narromine High Schools on dates to be determined by them.

Accommodation is not available in the Cabins that we have stayed in the past but there are other Caravan Parks and Motels but we will need to have an indication of our requirements very soon, to this end please contact PP Ted Mlynarz by Friday 8 May 2020 if you would like him to book accommodation for you. After this date you will have to make your own arrangements.

Our Members only raffle jackpot will be $90
When next we meet, the wine we offer for prizes is aging gracefully and our supply of exciting chocolates and mystery prizes are just waiting to be won.
