SALVATION ARMY RED SHIELD APPEAL
On Sunday 30 May Jim Rudling, Jim Leahy, Joe Cauchi, Ted Mlynarz, Rinna Ly and Gary Halliday assisted by catering for the Year 11 Students from All Saints Catholic College at Casula who had volunteered. There were about 50 Students who between them collected around $1,500 Door Knocking in the area surrounding the school.
Chef Joe and his capable assistants managed to cook the sausages in four fry pans because the School’s BBQ was unserviceable – in was last used by us in 2018.
We are arranging for a representative of the Salvation Army to come to one of our future meetings.
MUNA
While we were at All Saints Senior College, we pushed MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly) with the Deputy Principle, in past years we have sponsored up to two debating teams each year from the school and while we just missed for 2021, we can look forward to sponsoring a team in 2022.
Destiny Rescue
We had Rachel Dunwell and Craig Wood from Destiny Rescue in attendance at our Meeting.
Craig has been with Destiny Rescue for over 8 years and has worked in several countries overseeing construction homes and been on under cover in notorious red-light districts in south east Asia in search of children who have been trafficked. His main focus at this time is to increase awareness about one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises in our world and to raise support to end child trafficking.
Rachel is involved in the rehabilitation side of their operations.
The presentation was both confronting and emotional.
Secretary Ted Mlynarz presented a cheque to support their operations.
