It was a quiet evening at Tuesday’s dinner meeting. Apologies were received from Geoff Gibbs, Gary Halliday,   Charlie Hili and Joe Cauchi.

 

President Jim Rudling gave a brief report on the recent Board meeting including the approval for two Paul Harris Fellow recognitions to be presented in separate events in the near future.

 

Jim reminded members of the fundraiser for Cambodia Vision on 15 June.

 

The organisation for the Changeover is well in hand with most of the invited guests having responded. Members are reminded to confirm their attendance.

 

DGE John Pillay continues his District duties with attending more individual Club meetings.

 

Tissa Perera has returned from his trip to Sri Lanka to finalise scholarships for needy children. In all 10 scholarships have been awarded. Tissa expressed his concern for the country which is still in the grip of civil unrest.

As usual we provided transport and a sausage sizzle for the students of All Saints Senior High School at Casula who volunteered as collectors on the day. Thanks to Alvan Freeman, Ted Mlynarz, Rinna Ly, Allan Hall, Jim Rudling, Jim Leahy and Gary Halliday. It should be noted that we did it unsupervised as Joe Cauchi was in China.

 

This dinner was held at Liverpool Catholic Club to raise fund to replace equipment used by the Liverpool SES assisting the Community during recent hail storms and other events.
