function, which is on 3rd September. This is the 20th anniversary of this event and clubs are asked to donate a prize of up to $500 to for the night. Judging will be on the 9th August 2019.
Sam has been in contact with the Father Chris Riley Youth Off the Street program in an attempt to organise fundraising.
Frans Buskermolen felt that it was more important for the club to focus on drought relief at this point in time. Secretary Charles reiterated that there was a district effort on that front and that Sam
had made it clear that his presidency would be directed to work in the local area.
Charles did however note that further drought assistance would be on the next board meeting agenda. Frans tabled a letter from RAWCS, which indicated our club partner with the Rotary Club of Oberon in rural relief efforts. This is for discussion by the board. Sam will also be attending the next Presidents meeting where the drought relief adopt a town project will be discussed.
The club will be looking for a new Treasurer in the future.
Sam is also requesting that someone step up to the plate and nominate themselves for the next president. Due to John Pillay’s commitments as ADG, we also need a Youth Director.
Secretary Charles reported that survey results are rolling in. Though not complete, preliminary
indications are that members are quite happy with the way things are rolling and in particular, the
projects we are involved with. Secretary will report further, when more members reply.
International Director, Rinna informed the club that some members of the club were due to leave
for Cambodia on 17 th August on an AHHA humanitarian trip. He also reported that Tissa had
received a number of donations toward the Sri Lankan Scholarship project through RAWCS.
PP Jim Rudling reported on the meeting he had with Mounties Directors. The club is eager to
collaborate with Rotary, both in terms of making funds available to projects and by using Club media to promote the Rotary Club of Liverpool West. The club is also keen on fund raising events involving our club be at Mountie’s venue. Jim has been invited to a further meeting where discussions will be held regarding conducting some activities under the club banner.
He also raised the topic of Trundle also needing drought relief support and said that that town’s partnership with Forbes Rotary Club had not been of any significant value to date.this. This could be another avenue for our club to investigate. He also reiterated that many
farmers could not procure any Centrelink benefits because they own property, a further reason for
Rotary Clubs to step up and help these disadvantaged farmers.
