Past President John Pillay informed the meeting that he will be attending the President Elect’s Training as part of his duties as Assistant District Governor. He will be leaving soon for Fiji with Sam Capra to view the prospect of extending the water project. The Rotary Club of North Suva has come on board.
The Guest Speaker was Rafaele Joudry who spoke about a health and vitality program she and her mother have developed over 20 years. The program of Sound Therapy assists in overcoming hearing in noisy environments, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia and depression. The program also improves a person’s energy, self-confidence, memory and creativity.
Rafaele provided members with the use of a demonstration unit to try. It consisted of a player device and a set of headphones.
Ted Mlynarz advised the meeting of a special Humanitarian and Health Trip where he and other Club Members will travel to Cambodia with a team of Vietnamese Doctors and Health Professionals to assist 3,000 displaced people from Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia who have been relocated to a new area that has no facilities. The group will be away for around 14 day from 6 March. This is an AHHA project and as usual all volunteers are paying their own travel accommodation and living expenses.
