Meeting 2 June 2020
We had a good attendance for this meeting with members Zooming in and out as they experienced IT and NBN issues,
Election of District 9675 Governor 2022 – 3
Secretary Charlie Hili has emailed all Members the CV’s of the two candidates and voting information. Our Club is entitled to one vote which must be lodged by 23 June 2020. Members are asked to ensure that they have read this information before the meeting to be held on 16 June 2020 when they will be asked to decide who will receive the Club’s vote.
Club Changeover Dinner
This has been tentatively scheduled to be on 7 July 2020, we are investigating various options in relation to where it might be held taking into account current restrictions on numbers. We need to have a venue that will allow us to have at least 50 people attending. It may be that it will be delayed a little longer while we wait for further relaxation of the rules.
Irrespective of when the Dinner is held the new Board assumes its duties on 1July 2020.
Awarding of Paul Harris Recognitions – the Board has received 5 nominations which are being considered. Most members have accrued PHF Recognition points from donations that the Club has made to the Australian Rotary Foundation Centurion Program in their names each year. The Board has asked that these members complete a transfer form to enable the Club to use them.
Australian Rotary Foundation – Centurion Program
The Club has again made a donation of $100 in the name of all financial members – receipts should have been received. This donation is tax deductible.
Proposed Merger of Liverpool Clubs
The Club was approached some time ago to consider a merger between the Liverpool, Liverpool West and Liverpool Greenway Clubs to this end a Sub-Committee consisting of Gary Halliday, Ted Mlynarz and John Pillay has been formed. We have advised to other Clubs of the Sub-Committee and our willingness to participate in discussions without any preconceived ideas or conditions.
Proposed Liverpool Service Clubs Fun Run – 2021
We received a proposal from Lions Club of Liverpool to investigate this possible fundraising event – any funds raised to be shared between participating Clubs. Community Service Director Shiva Nandan advises that an informal meeting will be held at 12 noon at the Hilda M Davis Hall, 188 Bigge Street, Liverpool. Interested Members are urged to attend.
Hand Sanitizer
We expect to receive the 1000 bottles we have ordered shortly and will arrange distribution to the charities operating in our area that we have identified.

Annual Circus has now been rescheduled to be held in May 2021, we still plan to hold it in the Grounds of the Bonnyrigg Sports Club - discussions are being held with Projects for Children (telemarketer), Brophy’s Circus, Fairfield Council and the Club. Updates when available.
Narromine District Drought Relief – Mungery Picnic Races
Our current plan is to visit the District from Friday, 3rd October to Sunday, 5th October 2020.
Hopefully we will be able to hold a Free Community BBQ on Saturday 4th October and the assist the Members of the Rotary Club of Narromine with their catering and work at the Mungery Picnic Races.
We have agreed to fund “Back to School” sausage sizzles to be held at Trangie Central School and Narromine High Schools on dates to be determined by them.
Accommodation is not available in the Cabins that we have stayed in the past but there are other Caravan Parks and Motels in the area and if you intend to join the 18 representatives of our Club you will need to make your bookings.
The Drought Relief Sub-Committee (Tissa Perera, Ted Mlynarz and Jim Rudling) will be looking at the areas we are able to provide effective support including Drought Relief Vouchers.
Federal Government Volunteers Grant
With the support of Chris Hayes (Member for Fowler) the Club has been successful in receiving a Volunteer Grant from the Federal Government. This grant is to purchase the marquee, tables and coverings we use at various events. The marquees are high quality aluminium framed and display the Clubs Name on the canopy. We are grateful for Chris’s support with our application.
Our Members only raffle jackpot will be $90
When next we meet, the wine we offer for prizes is aging gracefully and our supply of exciting chocolates and mystery prizes are just waiting to be won.
