There was a good attendance at Tuesday’s Dinner Meeting Geoff Gibbs, Bob Groat and Ted Mlynarz are travelling in the wilds of Central Australia and Joe Cauchi is in Israel.
President Jim reported on the Police Officer of the Year function having a good attendance. Jim had had a conversation with the overall winner (Daniel Savona) and was further impressed with his attitude and commitment.
Jim and Rinna Ly had also attended a RAWCS meeting in Canberra out of which Liverpool West did very well with Project Natalia and Australian Aid for Cambodia projects receiving a boost to their coffers of a $1000 each.
Treasurer Gary reported that all members are now financial.
Youth Director Shiva Nandan has the application forms available for nominations for the Pride of Workmanship Awards.
Sam Capra has everything in hand for the Gala Night for Miracle Babies on Friday 14 September. He requests that members who are available to set up the function room be at the venue from 12 noon.
The Guest Speaker was Gemma Cameron from the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Liverpool Night Patrol. Gemma described the Patrol as consisting of a van operating five nights per week (Tuesday to Saturday) in Liverpool and Sadleir. The Patrol provides meals, blankets, toiletries, snacks, hot beverages and most importantly, companionship to people who are living rough or in overcrowded or insecure accommodation.
The locations and times of the Patrol are:
Liverpool Pioneers Memorial Park- Macquarie Street, Liverpool: 8.30pm- 9.00pm
Edwin Wheeler Oval/Miller Park – Cnr Maxwells Avenue and Cartwright Ave, Sadleir: 9:15pm – 9:45pm.
Gemma issued an invitation for any Club member to join the Patrol to help assist the 100 volunteers involved in this important work in our community.

On Friday night we held our fund Raising night for Miracle Babies Foundation which was a success raising much need funds for this group. The night was attended by over 150 people at the Macquarie Paradiso Lounge who contributed to the success of the night through their sponsorships and generosity. Thanks to Sam Capra, John Pillay, Shiva Nandan and Rinna Ly for their work in organising the event.
