Meeting - 29 January 2019
At Tuesday’s meeting apologies were received from Gary Halliday Geoff Gibbs and Charlie Hili.
 
President Jim reported that he had been informed of what was required for the proposed BBQ at Bardia Barracks on 17 March. There is an expectation that there will be 200 people attending on the Memorial Day. A Commitment Sheet was circulated and an adequate number of members volunteered.
 
Jim has received an acknowledgement of the Club’s application to continue the arrangement with Mounties for our Dinner Meetings to be held in their rooms. The application will be put before the next board meeting of Mounties.
 
Jim has also received a message from doctor’s involved in the Natalia Project indicating that they have coordinated everything for Natalia’s operation to be performed mid-March. After the operation she will require a 12-week recuperation.
 
Vocational Service Director Shiva Nandan is organising a Vocational Visit to the Ingham Institute on 12 March and will be looking for numbers in the not too distant future.
 
Past President John Pillay is currently waiting on a supplier’s quote for materials for the Fiji water project. Once received John will organise a trip to Fiji to complete the work.
 
The Guest Speaker, Charbella Nandan, spoke about her awesome and inspirational experience at the recent RYLA. Her highlights related to the sessions on personality type, goal setting and personal resilience. Charbella thanked the Club for the opportunity to attend the camp as she has put the learnings from it to good use in making genuine new friends and setting achievable goals for her future.
Jim Leahy provided a brass plaque on which it is proposed to engrave the acknowledgement thet the Club has provided the materials and the labour to build the Sensory Garden at Braeside Hospital Fairfield.

Our meeting on 5 February will be a fellowship night and as usual friends, partners are welcome to attend.

Memorial Service at Bardia Barracks Ingleburn – Sunday 17 February 2019
We have agreed to conduct a Sausage Sizzle on the day, with a difference. We will also be offering Meat Pies. Catering for up to 70 invited guests, feeding cadets and band plus any guests. More details when they come to hand.
 
 
 
Alec Muggleton Memorial Golf Day – will be held on Friday, 17 May 2019, this gives everyone time to work on their game. Autism Advisory and Support Service operating from 88 Memorial Ave Liverpool will be the beneficiary of the day. Grace Fava their Founder and CEO will be providing support in organising this event. Further details soon
 
 
Annual Circus – Subject to approval by Liverpool Council our annual Circus will be held in the Grounds of Bonnyrigg Sports Club, Elizabeth Drive, Bonnyrigg, NSW over three days - Friday 3 May, Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May 2019. The Circus will staged by Brophy International Productions they will also be doing the Fairy Floss, Popcorn and Drinks. As a Club will need to get the guests to the Tent where Brophy’s will take over and this year for the first time we will also be providing a sausage sizzle from our BBQ Trailer and selling drinks. There will be 3 sessions each day and we will need around 6 volunteers for each session.
