Apologies: Alvan Freeman, Pranesh Ram, Charles Hili, John Cauchi, Geoff Gibbs, Joe Cauchi. Alan Hall, John Bonnici and Peter Beadle..
We started the meeting with Valentina Richetti and Oriana Pavone who gave us an interesting presentation, tag teaming as they detailed their experiences at the recent RYPEN Camp at Teen Ranch. They enjoyed the experience as they were asked to step out of their comfort zones and like the team building events. They recommend the experience and will be telling their fellow students about it. They also recommended that the Club be more proactive in promoting RYPEN to local High Schools as the majority of student on their Camp came from the northern suburbs and western Sydney was under represented.
President Tissa Perera reported that he the Club he has had further discussions with Rachel-Maree O'Toole in relation to our Club sponsoring the establishment of an Interact Club at James Busby High School. He has also spoken with other local Rotary Clubs to get their views on what is required and what is best practice when starting such Clubs.
Rachel-Maree O'Toole will attend our meeting on 16 July 2024 to discuss this further further with members.
Members were advised that the Club will be providing support to Liverpool Hospital Wig Library, Liverpool District Men's Shed, Camp Quality (Sponsorship of a vehicle in the annual esCarpade ), Variety the Children's Charity (sponsorship of a vehicle in their annual B to B Bash ) and Sri Lanka Scholarship Project through RAWCS. This year instead of making a presentation at the Change Over Dinner each recipient will be requested to attend a Club meeting to receive our donation.
