Guest Speaker
Our Guest speaker was Steve Matthews a former member of our Club (and neighbour of Fran(z)s).
Steve was accompanied by his wife and researcher Di. Steve is a successful author of many children’s books but this time he spoke about his new book “The Skinny Girl”. It is a story based on a diary of a woman living in an abusive relationship with some parts created to complete the book. Steve and Di locked themselves away in a “log Cabin” in the back blocks of Tasmania to convert Di’s research into a book. The book went through 17 iterations before Steve and his publishers were satisfied. All the profits from its sale will be shared with 50% going to the Homicide Victims Support Group and the remaining 50% being distributed to a number of charities and support groups. Many members took the opportunity of purchasing an advance copy and having it signed.
Details of the official launch is below:-
