President's Message
Meeting 10 July: Apologies were received from Rinna Ly, Jim Rudling, Peter Beadle and Sam Capra at last week’s meeting.
Geoff Gibbs spoke about the future of the Club’s Annual Golf Day after Karitane advised that they no longer wished to be involved. As a consequence, he had had a meeting with Mike Coffey and Grace Fava (of the Autism Advisory and Support Service) to discuss the issue. Grace expressed interest in her organisation being the recipient of the funds raised on the day and suggested that she could provide the administrative function for the event. Members agreed to proceed with the Golf Day. Ted Mlynarz also offered his assistance. It will be held on Friday. 19th October 2018 at Cabramatta Golf Club. Further information will be provided when available.

The initial Guest Speaker was Muizz Khan from the Police Citizens Youth Club at Miller. Muizz’s role as Senior Activities Officer is to work with other organisations to construct programs for youth. Whereas the PCYC was founded on boxing for boys it has branched out into other areas such as gardening and computerised gaming (electronic games not gambling). For this purpose, the Miller Club is setting up a specialised gaming room. He was looking to the Club for support and will come back with a proposal.

The second Guest Speaker was Joe Cauchi who had recently returned from a six-week holiday in Malta and Europe. Joe enjoyed in telling about the trials and tribulations of driving his camper van through the mountains of Italy, France and Switzerland. In particular of finding the physical location of one hotel and the generosity of local people who assisted him when the clutch on the van gave up the Ghost.

Frans Buskermolen sought leave for the next 6 weeks as he escapes the winter on Mount Razorback and heads to Europe in the hope of finding Summer.

Treasurer reminded Members that their annual dues of $225 are now being collected and that over 50% of Members have already paid.

IPP John Pillay and Shiva Nandan distributed tickets for the Miracle Babies Fund Raising night to members urging them to try and get supporters on Board.
