At last week’s meeting apologies were received from Russell Soedjadi, Alan Hall, John Pillay, Shiva Nandan, Geoff Gibbs, Sam Capra, Alvan Freeman and Gary Halliday. – resulting in a small but convivial Meeting.
Peter Beadle was in attendance and gave a brief update on his 40,000 kilometre trek around Australia – he will give a detailed report with photos in the New Year. The next part of Peter and Margaret’s great adventure is Antarctica. NO NOT IN THE CAMPERVAN!
The Club discussed proposed amendments to Rotary International’s Constition (as requested by District 9675) voting on the 9 proposed amendments.
We received advice from DG Sue Hayward on the consideration being given to merging Districts 9675 and 9685 this was circulated to Members by email. This, if it proceeds is still some time away.
Joe Cauchi added to the tone of the meeting by conducting the fine session as only Joe can do it.
The Members Raffle Jackpot was won by Rinna Ly – so it will be back to $10 on 11 December 2018.
School Service Awards 2019
We have just completed the distribution of Awards to 21 local schools to be presented at the Speech Days. The awards were for the “Best School Citizen” nominated by the school - the nominee received a Certificate and a Pen, the School Library received a Dictionary donated in the Name of the Student,
RAME Birthday Sausage Sizzle
We were invited to provide a sausage sizzle on Friday, November 30 at the Holsworthy Army Barracks. Jim Rudling, Jim Leahy, Joe Cauchi, Alvan Freeman, Ted Mlynarz and Gary Halliday attended and catered to the hungry as well as watching a new form of (padded) Boxing were the contestants had to down a beer before entering the ring. There was also a smoke haze to rival bushfires that have occurred in the area from “burn-outs” as well as go cart racing and other entertainment.
PROJECT NATALIA
Natalia arrives in Sydney on Sunday, December 2 for a week during which time the Surgical Team at Liverpool Hospital will assess her for the proposed operations, during that time both she and her companion will be staying with President Jim Rudling. She will have flown into Australia from Jayapura in West Papua via Jakarta and then return home.
Depending on the results of the assessment she will return to Australia three months later for the full procedures and is then expected to be here for 3 Months. We hope all goes well for her.

Monday, 3 December 2018 – Vocational Visit to Wetherill Park TAFE for a Christmas Buffet Dinner prepared and served by Catering and Hospitality Students. Those that have booked should be there by 6:30 pm. A “Christmas Cocktail” is included and a Cash Bar will be in operation for other drinks.

Memorial Service at Bardia Barracks Ingleburn – Sunday 17 February 2019
We have agreed to conduct a Sausage Sizzle on the day, with a difference. We will also be offering Meat Pies. Catering for up to 70 invited guests, feeding cadets and band plus any guests. More details when they come to hand.
Alec Muggleton Memorial Golf Day – will be held on Friday, 17 May 2019, this gives everyone time to work on their game. Autism Advisory and Support Service operating from 88 Memorial Ave Liverpool will be the beneficiary of the day. Grace Fava their Founder and CEO will be providing support in organising this event. Annual Circus – Subject to approval by Liverpool Council our annual Circus will be held in the Grounds of Bonnyrigg Sports Club, Elizabeth Drive, Bonnyrigg, NSW over three days - Friday 3 May, Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May 2019. The Circus will staged by Brophy International Productions they will also be doing the Fairy Floss, Popcorn and Drinks. As a Club will need to get the guests to the Tent where Brophy’s will take over and this year for the first time we will also be providing a sausage sizzle from our BBQ Trailer and selling drinks. There will be 3 sessions each day and we will need around 6 volunteers for each session.
