ANNUAL PRIDE OF WORKMANSHIP AND COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS PRESENTATION NIGHT
 
This event was held on 12th November 2024 at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant in Mounties Community Club, . Vocational Service Director Shiva Nandan did all the hard work in organizing these awards but was unable to attend due to ill health. President Elect Ted Mlynarz was Master of Ceremonies, President John Pillay presented the awards, Frans Buskermolen auctioned two wood carvings donated by Bert Vreman and Sergeant at Arms Russell Soedjadi conducted the raffle. It was a great event.
 
We had 9 recipients of the Pride of Workmanship Award.

International Service Director Ted Mlynarz has advised that the BBQ held in conjunction with Australian Humanitarian Aid in Freedom Plaza, Cabramatta at he end of last month raised just under $5,000 in sales and donations. These fund will be used to proved humanitarian aid to the families affected by the Typhoon Yagi, more than 560 schools and 188,000 homes have been destroyed or damaged. At least 27 children from one village in Vietnam have lost their lives in a flash flood triggered by a massive storm that killed nearly 200 people and damaged or destroyed more than 188,000 homes.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
MELBOURNE CUP LUNCH 2024
 
Club Members joined with members of the members of the Inner Wheel Club of Liverpool Combined for an enjoyable lunch.
 
 
Fortunes were made and lost, but everyone enjoyed the day.

Meeting Schedule for 2025
Secretary Jim Rudling confirmed that he had booked our meeting dates with Mounties for next year, including the Annual Change Over Dinner, Police Officer of the Year Dinner and Pride of Workmanship and Community Service Awards Night.
 
To secure these date we have lodged  applications for a Club Grants with the Club.
 
As always we are grateful for the support we receive from Mounties Community Club and the excellent service we receive from all of their staff.
 
END OF YEAR FUNCTION
Members agreed to hold an end of Year Function at Rocco’s Ristorante, 688 Hume Hwy, Casula, NSW - 6:30 for 7pm
Indicative costs are $65 per person plus drinks at own expense. Treasurer Sam Capra will advise details when they are available.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Annual Circus - 2024
 
 
This will be held in the Grounds of Liverpool Catholic Club on Saturday 7 December and Sunday 8 December 2024. We will have three sessions each day comprising of a 40 minute performance and a 30 minute Circus performer workshop.
 
This will be an open air event - NO TENT - put on by Ashton Entertainment.
 
There will be food and drink plus rides and games.
 
 
Lexophilia:
Although not in the dictionary, it is reported that "Lexophile" describes a person who loves sentences such as, "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish," and "To write with a broken pencil is pointless."
 

An annual competition is held by the New York Times to see who can create the best original lexophile.   This year's submissions:

◾I changed my iPod's name to Titanic. It's syncing now.

RYLA 2025 applications are currently open until 30 November 2024.
 
RYLA is a leadership program for people aged 19-25 on 28 January to 2 February 2025 and will be held at the Tops Conference Centre, Grevillea, 51 Bendena Gardens, Stanwell Tops 2508, and is sponsored by Rotary Clubs.
 
If you know someone aged 19-25 and available on those dates, we would greatly appreciate it if you could distribute the application form and flyers.
