We had a great night at Mounties when we presented Pride of Workmanship awards to seven deserving members of our Community, each of them had been nominated for their work ethic and effort. President Sam Capra and Vocational Service Director Shiva Nandan presented the awards.
Unfortunately three other awardees were unable to attend on the night because of illness and/or work commitments and arrangements will be made to present their awards as soon as possible.
Congratulations to all recipients of this award on their receipt of the award and to the Functions and Catering departments of Mounties for their efforts in making this night a success.
We will not be holding our normal meeting on Tuesday 5 November instead will be attending the Mounties Melbourne Cup Day from 11 am (see details later). Mounties have kindly allowed us to make a collection for our drought efforts during this lunch.
Sadly, we have to advise that Kay Farrell, wife of PP Peter Farrell and past member of Liverpool Quota passed away suddenly while she and Peter were on holiday in Napier, New Zealand. Peter is now back home of the Sunshine Coast Our Club sends our deepest sympathy to Peter and to the families.

We have received permission from Club Management to have Drought Relief Collection Buckets at the event. Roll up and make a day of it.

Planning is underway for Club members to visit the Narromine District on Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 of December. We are in contact with Narromine Rotary Club and the local branch of the CWA and are consulting with the local council to co-ordinate our efforts.
We plan to:-
  • Provide hampers to people in need in the Narromine District in conjunction with the local CWA and St Vincent de Paul;
  • Make donations to the hardship funds maintained by the four schools in Narromine;
  • On the Saturday have a free BBQ in front of the CWA Building at Narromine, all food and drink to be sourced locally;
  • Members will stay in local motels etc and have a dinner on the Saturday Night.
The Club's AGM will be held on 16 November 2019 and nominations are now called for Secretary, Treasurer, International Service Director, Youth & Vocational Service Director and Community Service / Social Director for 2020/2021. Please advise President Sam Capra or Secretary if you wish to stand for these positions.
This a conversation between a man and a woman. Please note that she asks five or six questions which he answered quite simply, but then she is speechless after answering only one question. l bet this happens more often than not to most husbands out there:
Woman: Do you drink beer?
Man: Yes
Woman: How many beers a day?
Man: Usually about three
Woman: How much do you pay per beer?
Man: $5.00 (this is where it gets scary!)
Woman: And how long have you been drinking?
Man: About 20 years, I suppose
Woman: So a beer costs $5 and you have three beers a day which puts  your spending each month at   $450. In one year, it would be approximately   $5400 correct?
Man: Correct
Woman: If in 1 year you spend $5400, not accounting for inflation, the  past 20 years puts your spending at $108,000 correct?
Man: Correct
Woman: Do you know that if you didn’t drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought an airplane?
Man: Do you drink beer?
Woman: No.
Man: Where is your airplane?

Sunday 10 November 2019 commencing at 10 am at Bigge Park Liverpool
