Tuesday, 04 April 2017 was a great Fellowship night. We welcomed our two special visitors: Karla Muckenthaler from Melbourne and Greg Gibbs as our regular local visitor. Apologies from Jim Rudling, Sam Capra, Peter Beatle, Joe Cimino, Alan Hall and Robert Menolotto.

Tonight was a good night for the fellowship night and Karla Muckenthaler introduced us that she has moved from Melbourne for good to Holsworthy, South Sydney and she was happy to visit our club. Pamela Nkomo wouldn’t be able to attend the club meeting tonight due to her mother’s illness and she’s still in the hospital. Pamela will inform us when she will be available to join the club.

Secretary: Ted advised that AHHA team invites our club members to attend the Satellite club meeting on Wednesday, 24th of May 2017 at 1:00pm, Bar Luck Restaurant, John Street. Prince Tesso Sisowath from Cambodia will be attending the meeting. The Satellite club will also organise the lunch for all attendees with the Prince. He also invited our club members to attend the AHHA Fund raising night on 26th of May 2017 and if you are joining the AHHA night one ticket is available now and costs $60 per person.

Treasurer: Gary advised that the circus will be held on 26-28 May 2017. He also advised that our club changeover will be held on 1st July 2017 and cost $65 per person. It will be held at the Liverpool Catholic Club and will be commenced at 6:30pm for 7:00pm.

Breakfast Meeting: A breakfast meeting has been organised for Tuesday 11 April commencing at 7 am. The cost will be $25 per head for a full buffet breakfast in the Atrium Restaurant – Liverpool Catholic Club. Don’t be late

Restaurant Night: Sam Capra advised that he has arranged to dine-out on 18 April 2017, at LA RUMBLA, Shop 7/600 Hoxton Park Road, Hoxton Park. Sam sent the commitment sheet to everyone whom are interested in attending the dinner with their partners and friends at this place soon. The cost per head is $55 with soft drink, house wine and beer. This will replace the meeting which would normally be held on that night. If you plan to attend please advise Sam Capra.

Satellite Club / AHHA BBQs at Freedom Plaza Cabramatta

Fairfield City Council has agreed to the following dates for Rotary and AHHA to conduct the bi-monthly BBQ fundraising events in 2017: 9 April, 18 June and 19 November. Any members who can help out on these days should advise Ted Mlynarz.

AHHA Annual Fund Raising Dinner – 26 May 2017

The annual fundraising dinner will take place Friday, 26 May 2017 at the Crystal Palace Function Centre, Canley Heights.


AusViet Charity Foundation is having a fund raising night on Friday, 6th May 2017 at Canley Vale International Restaurant, 42 Canley Vale Road, Canley Vale. Jim Rudling is organising a table for this function – the cost is $50 per person for a 5 course meal, drinks and entertainment if you are able to attend please let Jim know as soon as possible.


Club Changeover Dinner: this dinner will be held on Saturday, 1 July 2017 in the Liverpool Catholic Club Function Centre 7:00 for 7:15 pm the cost will be $65 per head for a 3 course meal, house wine and draft beers plus soft drinks.



RAWCS Eastern Region Working Bees at 6 Colyton Road, Minchinbury

RAWCS are vacating the Minchinbury Warehouse and are asking for volunteers to work from 9 am to 1 pm on the Saturday – 12 August 2017; Saturday – 9th September 2017; and Saturday – 23 September 2017. If you can help please advise Keith Roffey keithroffey@bigpond.com the week before. Some manual work will be involved, volunteers are asked to wear suitable clothing, covered footwear and to bring work/garden gloves. The work will be dusty so expect clothing to be soiled. Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided.

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago.
