Dear Fellow Rotarians & Friends,
Saturday, 1st July 2017 was a special night. Welcome to the Rotary Club of Liverpool West Changeover of 2017. Tonight, the new President, Board and Office Bearers are inducted to officiate over the club’s activities for the next 12 months.
I would like to thank Hon. Chris Hayes and Bernardette Hayes Member for Fowler, Mike Coffey & Trudy, President of Liverpool Catholic Club, Warwick Richardson, Assistant District Governor, and everyone who attended the night.
How quickly time has passed. This evening proved that a year is a very short time indeed and a presidential term is like the act of sprinting. One year ago, I decided that it was to be worked and played at its own time. I am happy to say that the team lived up to the expectations.
My time as President has been a very positive experience for me, and hopefully, for the club of Liverpool West as well.
As an Immediate Past President, my thanks are due to you all for helping maintain the club on throughout the year. No significant problems to deal with and warming to the way of my good result by any standards. I am proud to be a member of our club and particularly proud to have been afforded the honour of being your President.
Doing the Presidential rounds visiting other clubs and sitting next to our special guests I have come to appreciate what a good club that we have. Our blend of relaxed formality combined with a sense of bonding and purpose serve us well.
I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the team that made this year a successful one.
Directors, thanks for the contribution and tireless efforts, your skills, dedication and time that have made us reach the heights we did in the past year.
I appreciate the good relations that we have within our club members. We hope to strengthen it as we move into this year and beyond.
Members, your contribution and support as well as your valuable ideas have also strengthened the club in one-way or another.
Guests, we look forward to engaging with you more on your road to becoming members. Your efforts cannot be ignored.
My thanks to you all for making everything happened. I am mindful that I have just been the person holding the responsibility. Alongside me are those who keep the club moving and to whom I am grateful.
We all know that any good rotary club is run by a good secretary, Treasurer and Board Directors. Thank you all.
Among the things which we have accomplished over the last year. We have received active and generous support from local and international communities which believe strongly in our core missions.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as President, and now ride off in to the sunset, leaving the guidance of our group in strong and capable hands.
Lastly, as teamwork and do what we do best in our quest to serve. Let’s ensure that we keep up with the club spirit and my sincere thanks to each of you all.
Looking forward to working with new Board of Directors including a President in 2017-18.
Thank you all for your cooperation – Dr Rinna Ly, President 2016/7
